Hand Carved Gold Gilded Statue of the Medicine Buddha
This exquisite piece of the Medicine Buddha sculpture employs traditional Himalayan motifs and designs delicately produced in our studio. The Buddha is depicted as being serenely seated on a moon disc lotus seat in the statue, holding a myrobalan plant in his left hand and an alms bowl containing the nectar of immortality in his right. His calm expression is brilliantly highlighted by acrylic paintings. The statue’s body is created out of copper, later coated in 24-karat pure gold. He is bejeweled with precious gemstones like the turquoise meticulously placed by our artists.

Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaishajyaguru in Sanskrit, is regarded as the Buddha of Healing. His teachings aim to free sentient beings from sickness, pain, anguish, and unhappiness while emphasizing the need for prosperity and enjoyment in this life. Many meditators in the Mahayana tradition admire his healing abilities. He is frequently shown with a blue (lapis lazuli) body and hands carrying a begging bowl and medical herbs.
