Made from copper, covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect. Guru Rinpoche is depicted holding a vajra (thunderbolt scepter) in his right hand, symbolizing the indestructible nature of enlightenment and the skillful means to cut through ignorance. Leaning against his left shoulder is a khatvanga, representing various aspects of tantric realization.
