The sculpture depicts the Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as the Buddha of Enlightenment, which is one of Shakyamuni Buddhas best Statues. It is hand-carved and made from an oxidized copper base and 24-karat gold gilded in the facial part. Additionally, the statue has been painted with acrylic to enhance its appearance. The Buddha is depicted in a seated position with both legs folded, sitting on top of a lotus flower, with a serene expression. He is holding an alms bowl in his left hand and his right hand touching the ground, symbolizing his enlightenment. Our artisan designed its detachable backrest so well, decorated with unique patterns. And we have especially made this 14kg statue with oxidized copper to give it a vintage and simple look. It took the artisan some years to completely carve it as it is 21.2" inches tall.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
