Statue of the Ascetic Buddha Shakyamuni Seated in Meditation
This traditional statue of Buddha Shakyamuni seated in meditation was masterfully created in our workshop and is brimming with exceptional Himalayan artistry. The statue's copper body is coated in gold, giving it its sheen and brilliance. The Buddha can be seen sitting on a moon disc lotus on an ornately ornamented throne with exquisite patterns and designs. He performs the "Bhumisparsa Mudra," which signifies the Buddha's awakening while holding an alms bowl in his right hand. The Buddha's serene look is highlighted with acrylic paints, and his lotus seat, headpiece, and other decorations are encrusted with priceless gems.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
