24k Gold Gilded Buddha Shakyamuni Seated In Meditation Statue
We have exclusively hand-carved the sculpture of Shakyamuni Buddha seated in Meditation in the traditional Himalayan Art of Nepal. The statue was crafted using a pure copper body and then gilded with 24k genuine gold. Seated cross legged upon a lotus moon disc with a calm and peaceful expression, the right hand of the deity is slightly touching the ground representing the calling of the earth goddess to witness the moment of enlightenment. The left hand of statue is seen holding an alms bowl above the lap signifying the 49 pieces of rice that he received before enlightenment during his meditation. It took us months of hard work carving intricate design patterns into the statue to give the most amount of detail to the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
