Traditionally Hand-Carved Amitabha Buddha Sutra Practice Statue
The expert artisans of Nepal used sophisticated design patterns to hand-craft the Amitabha Buddha Sutra Practice Statue. The figure's intricate embellishments are painstakingly carved from the copper body. The statue shows the figure sitting over a moon disc lotus set above a throne, having a serene facial expression, and holding an alms bowl over his lap with his hands. The statue's intricate design patterns were perfectly carved in the Kathmandu Valley. We used a hammer and small chisels to hand-carve the intricate design patterns. To do delicate carvings, artists must have decades of experience as he has to create intricate design patterns on a small surface area. To highlight the facial attributes of the deity, we used acrylic paintings. The design of the throne, let alone took us months and months of hard work and dedication to complete.
