Chenrezig Statue, Himalayan Avalokiteshvara Statue
Hand-carved with turquoise and coral, the 4 Armed Chenrezig statue has a wonderful serene expression on its face and is gilded with pure gold. It was made by a Kathmandu-based artisan in a traditional style. The golden statue's beauty is shining due to the blue color on his hair, brows, and shoulder. He is depicted on a lotus seat with four hands. His two front hands are clasped in front of his jewel-draped heart in a holy gesture. His particular emblem, a crystal akshamala, or rosary, a symbol of the never-ending cycle, is held in his upper right hand.

Chenrezig Introduction:
Chenrezig epitomizes the bodhisattva's determination to delay attaining Buddhahood until he has assisted every sentient being on Earth in achieving freedom from pain and the cycle of death and rebirth. His name has been translated as "the lord who observes in all directions." The practice of Chenrezig/Avalokiteshvara is encouraged to develop a calm and compassionate heart. Compassion is the root foundation for excelling in the Buddhist path. He listens to the prayers of all sentient beings in times of challenge and difficulty.
